Terms & Conditions

Replacements
If you should happen to receive a defective book, or a book which is not the one you ordered, we will of course replace it. Let us know as soon as possible, explaining clearly what is wrong, and we will deal with the problem as quickly as we can. Click on "Contact Us" from our Home Page for our address details.

We regret that we cannot supply books on a "sale or return" basis.

RETURNS POLICY

General
If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, you can return it to us unused and in its original condition within thirty days of the date you received it. Once the condition of the returned book has been checked, we will then refund you the price you paid, but not the cost of delivery or the cost of returning the book to us.

Books returned because they are damaged, defective or incorrect
If you are returning a book because of an error on our part or because it is damaged or defective we will refund the price of the book, the delivery charges incurred in sending the item to you and your costs in returning it to us. Please inform us of the problem before returning the book to us.

Books returned within the seven-day cooling-off period
By law, customers located within the European Union also have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days of the day after the date the item is delivered.

Where you are withdrawing from your purchase within this seven-day cooling-off period, and there has been no error on our part or defect in the product, we will refund the cost of the book and the cost of sending the item to you. We will not refund your costs in returning the item to us or the cost of other services provided to you in connection with your purchase.

Exchanges
We are unable to replace books which are neither damaged, nor defective nor sent by our error. If we send you a replacement for a damaged, defective or wrong book, you must return the original book to us within thirty days of our agreeing to replace it. We reserve the right to charge the price of the replacement book to the payment card used for the original order if you do not do this.

Statutory Rights
This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Privacy
We ask you to let us have only those personal details which we need to handle your order. We do not collect other personal information about you, or try to analyse your tastes and buying habits. And we certainly do not pass your details to any other organisation. So if you have the bad luck to be targeted by a spammer, it won't be because of us.

We hope you won't mind if we keep in touch with you and let you know when we are publishing new titles. But if you do mind, just let us know and we'll stop.

Ideas
Traviata Books Ltd is a very small company run on enthusiasm for the "lost" books of the 19th century. We hope you share our enthusiasm. You may know more about this kind of literature than we do! If you have any suggestions or comments - for example, ideas for books you would like us to make available - we should be delighted to hear from you and will do our best to take your views into account when planning future publications.

Bulk or wholesale purchase
We can offer discounts for bulk purchases, and special terms for wholesale business. Contact us with your requirements.

Tax, Censorship and Similar Interference
We are delighted to supply customers in all parts of the world. Unfortunately some Governments try to restrict the circulation of books by imposing taxes, customs duties or censorship. We hope you will understand that we cannot prevent that; nor can we circumvent postal regulations which may require us to reveal the content and value of a parcel. (We will normally complete the green customs sticker required outside the EU with “Book” and the cover price.) If you live in a place where books are treated with official suspicion, we must ask you to deal direct with your local authorities.
